One of the best traffic building techniques is no trick at all. It is to have a web site that is well designed and usable and that has accurate, useful and interesting information. If our sites are worth visiting and are straightforwardly laid out, it is likely that visitors will eventually beat a path to our door!

Patience is important too - The longer our sites have been running, the more likely they are to attract new and return traffic. Many web site owners seem to give up before they have given their site time to bed in, so to speak. It is tempting to make totally unnecessary and self-defeating changes when all that is needed is time for the search engines to find and index the pages.

It can take several months at the least for a site to be found and appreciated and for word to get round about it. The most popular sites have often taken years to establish themselves. There is no need to lose faith in a site simply because it is taking time for everyone to recognise its glories! If a site is useful, and without serious design flaws, it will eventually be found to be useful. Give it a chance!

Having said this, it will also help if you give some consideration to keywords and if you can persuade some prestigious web sites in the same field to link to you.
